About the Painting:
Masterfully woven is a cosmic narrative that celebrates the enduring connection between the living and those who have departed from this world. The central scene draws us into a wedding scene in our earthly realm. The figures of this joyous moment are the artist’s cherished friends, Robert and Veronica Galicia, who married in 2019 in Mexico City.
An ethereal transformation takes place as traditional Day of the Dead regalia ordains their heads, symbolizing their simultaneous existence in this mortal world and the realm of the Beyond.
Encircling the newlyweds, an otherworldly creature of the afterlife appears. This dream-like creature represents and pays tribute to Veronica’s beloved son Carlos Manuel Solis, who tragically passed away in 2017 at the age of 21. Here, it is as if he has transcended the boundaries of mortality to envelop and greet his mother and her new husband, Robert, in a heartwarming reunion that traverses the realms of this earthly existence.
